Where it all began…
Lash Shack was started as a solution for a small number of my salon clients who were finding it increasingly difficult to keep up with the cost of regular appointments, and it quickly developed into something far beyond what I initially set out to create.
At a time where a few clients were really feeling the financial pressure and were genuinely having to make difficult choices between paying essential bills and affording their lash appointments.
For most, lashes would never take priority over necessities such as rent or utilities. Yet what I consistently saw was that clients didn’t want to give them up, because of the impact they had on how they felt day to day. It’s difficult to fully explain unless you’ve experienced it — the confidence, the sense of feeling instantly more put together, and the lift it brings to everyday life.
So this said, going without them often had the opposite effect, leaving people feeling less confident in themselves, which obviously wasn’t the answer either. That was not a compromise I was comfortable accepting.
That is what led me to create a solution. I wanted to develop a way for people to maintain that same sense of confidence, without the ongoing cost or commitment of salon visits, particularly when that was no longer a realistic option.
And it wasn’t just about cost. I also recognised there were people who simply didn’t have the time for regular salon appointments because of demanding work schedules, travel, or the limitations of my salon opening hours.
At the same time, there were others who were unable to wear traditional lash extensions at all due to sensitivities or allergic reactions to the adhesives commonly used in salons, many of which contain stronger chemicals that do not suit everyone. With all of this in mind, I set out to create something different — a salon-quality result but with no salon appointment required, along with maintaining good lash health as a priority
I began testing and sampling at-home alternative lashes and then worked with a supplier to design the lashes I was happy with. Over the following two years, our lashes were extensively tested through real client wear, with every piece of feedback used to refine, improve, and perfect each stage of development. Every detail was considered — from ease of application, to comfort, to long-lasting wear that would not place any strain on natural lashes.
The response I received made it clear there was strong demand for the product, so we took the next step and brought it to market to see how it would be received on a wider scale — and we’ve never looked back.
We officially launched Lash Shack in April 2024.
Since then, our brand has gone from strength to strength, continuing to grow through repeated viral moments and building a loyal community drawn to its effortless application and elevated, salon-inspired results.
Lash Shack is still very much a small family-run business. We started from a spare bedroom in our home, building everything from the ground up with nothing more than an idea and a lot of determination.
Today, we’ve grown into our own warehouse and fulfilment space, working as a close-knit team made up of husband and wife, alongside a small group of trusted friends who have become an integral part of my business.
Despite how far we’ve come, that hands-on, personal approach is something we’ve never lost — and it remains at the heart of everything we do.
